Threads has launched a much-requested new feature
After adding desktop support for the app last month, Meta’s introduced another feature to its short-form content platform Threads.
Keyword search is now available in Australia and New Zealand, and Threads will soon follow this by expanding to Argentina, India, Mexico, the UK and the US in the coming days.
The feature allows you to search Threads content by keyword instead of searching by username only.
We can expect to see more features like drafts, API access, lists, and better discovery coming soon to the app.
What this means for brands on Threads:
Keyword search was a sorely needed feature, so this update is a welcome one.
With more updates on the way, we could see the app becoming even more of a viable Twitter alternative, as more users return to the app and boost takeup.
But there is still a long way to go. Mark Zuckerberg has said the platform won’t get ads until the platform is on a path to a billion users, which might be proving more difficult than first thought.
